Principles

Germans have lived together with other ethnic groups in Eastern and Southern Europe for many hundreds of years. Many of their lives have been shaped by forced displacement and escaping from their homes by the end of World War II. Our goal is to preserve these experiences and memories to let us influence and contribute to lasting peace. Our organization, djo – Deutsche Jugend in Europa, Landesverband Bayern e.V. (German Youth in Europe, division Bavaria) unites various youth associations, youth groups, and youth initiatives. Together we stand for and support equal opportunities for young people in a society that fosters solidarity and tolerance. We want to enable children and youths to build bridges and make them the experts that let people get know each other.
