Youth work in Bavaria is funded through many different channels. Here we would to provide you with a brief overview of funds available, that are important for the work of djo member organizations and societies. The list we present only shows a few of the many possible funding schemes. More exhaustive information on funding, guidelines and forms are available via the intranet. Local group- and youth work

Local groups of djo are mainly supported and financed by the respective city district and regional youth council (Kreisjugendring). Funding schemes are different in every council. Typically, the schemes consist of a base funding and funding for additional activities.

Traineeships for youth leadership volunteers

Training and qualifications of youth leadership volunteers are sponsored and funded. Youth leaders are taught new skills and introduced to their tasks as well as left with practical tips and tricks to master their youth work. The aim is to equip young people with the best tools and qualify them to work together children and youths. They are lead to take on responsibilities and accompany young people in their personal development.

Children and youth trainings

Educational trainings and workshops are funded for children, youths, and young adults up to the age of 26. These activities are meant to help young people to develop the full potential of their personality, skills and knowledge, as well as allow them to become aware of their rights and responsibilities in society. Trainings and workshops need to cover political, social, vocational, ecological, cultural, health-related, natural science, technical, media, religious, or sports themes and topics.

Special programme on integration

Also funded are programmes that support the integration into youth work of young people with a migrant background and experiences. Low-threshold offerings and projects are supposed to help young people from a migrant background in self-organizing and integrating into society. Moreover, funding and support is available to promote work with young refugees.

International youth work

Activities and exchanges of youths and professionals in youth work are funded. These activities facilitate getting to know other countries, cultures, social systems, international relationships and contexts. Furthermore, young people from different countries have a chance to mingle. The goal is to let young people learn from each other, exchange experiences, develop an understanding of other people and their lives, and overcome prejudices. Moreover, international youth work aims to assist young people in their personal development, encourage them to reflect on their life paths, as well as to understand international relationships.
